Matsutaro's ~150 Gallon Spotted Turtle Pond

Be aware that water hyacinth plants have dense, bushy roots that extend over a foot down, give off a lot of waste, and can fill in a small pond. Some spotted turtles eat water hyacinth. On the other hand, water hyacinth roots draw a lot of nitrate out of the water & harbor a large surface area that should accomodate a lot of beneficial bacteria.
