Richard Lunsford's 75 Gallon Tanks

Bristlenose Plecostomus - center - an excellent algae eater reaching ~ 5-6" (unlike common pleco.s, which can hit 16+") - on a piece of natural driftwood. The Java jern rubber banded to that driftwood didn't do well; I've had much better luck letting Java fern float freely in the tank. To the right rear is a mass of Java moss rubber banded to a piece of driftwood. Fine plant, low-light tolerant, consumes nitrates and grows fairly fast (you'll be throwing it away from time to time). Asian Marshweed (upper left) prolific, resembles Cabomba (yet not too demanding of strong light) or hornwort (yet seems less messy). Photo: Richard Lunsford.
