Richard Lunsford's 75 Gallon Tanks

Anacharis is easy to grow, does decently well with moderate light, removes nitrates from the water and provides shelter and structure for small turtles. It's edible and enjoyed by some herbivores and omnivores; sliders tend to shred it, and sliders, cooters and painted turtles will eventually destroy it. Mud, musk, chicken, softshell and some map turtles would do fine with it. The dry white buildup above the water line is mineral despot accumulation from evaporation of moderately hard tap water; I ignore it. Photo: Richard Lunsford.
